Beacon Council Cleans Up On New Business In Brazil, Going Back
Fresh off a successful mission to Brazil, the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade’s economic development agency, plans another visit in late spring or early summer.
“Brazil is our second-largest market after Spain,” said CEO Rodrick Miller. “We engaged over a dozen companies interested in expanding to Miami, including manufacturers, food and beverage firms, and software developers.”
The January trip covered São Paulo, Goiania, Curitiba, Florianopolis, and Porto Alegre, in collaboration with SelectUSA. While the next visit will involve more local partners, the focus remains on securing investment and business expansion in Miami.
Beyond Brazil, the Council is eyeing Europe. It will attend VivaTech in Paris (June 11-14) to explore tech partnerships and participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington, DC. A pre-event in Miami will introduce global companies to the city before the summit.
Despite recent shifts in federal trade policy, Miami’s appeal to international businesses continues to grow.
“Global interest remains strong,” said Miller. “All signs point to continued growth for Miami.”
