Tibor Hollo: We’re Starting One Bayfront Plaza In January 2019

Tibor Hollo will break ground on the 92-story One Bayfront Plaza in January 2019, according to an interview he gave this week with Miami Today.

Completion is estimated within 40 months of starting, he said. The building will top off at 1,049 feet, since that is the maximum permitted by the FAA in the area, Hollo said. He expects other developers will follow him and build at that height.

Most of One Bayfront Plaza will be devoted to apartments, with 1,052 units. The project will also include about 500,000 square feet of office space and 200,000 square feet of retail, along with a 200-room hotel. It will be directly connected to a Metromover station by bridge.

Residences will start on level 22. A sky recreation deck will have two giant pools, including one for hotel guests. A second amenity deck will be located on level 40.

Hollo is 90 years old. He currently has Panorama Tower under construction in Brickell, which is already the tallest structure in Miami. Hollo said that Panorama will top off at 867 feet, surpassing any other building in the area by 100 feet, and the tallest (residential) tower south of New York on the eastern seaboard.

Tibor Hollo Asks FAA Permission To Go Taller At Panorama

Tibor Hollo’s 83-story Panorama Tower is already under construction, but the developer is now requesting permission to build even taller than what is approved.

The developer just filed a request with the FAA to increase the height of Panorama to 868 feet above ground, or 876 feet above sea level. It is currently approved at 822 feet above ground.

Hollo has always wanted to build tall at Panorama. In 2011 Hollo asked for permission to build the tower at 843 feet above ground, but the agency cut it down to the 822-foot height.

After Panorama was cut down, Hollo suggested that MIA’s runways might need to be moved to allow for greater height downtown. Since then, the FAA has eased height restrictions and approved much taller high-rises nearby.

Panorama Tower, Miami’s Tallest Tower, Is About To Go Vertical

PanoramaTower2Foundation construction at developer Tibor Hollo’s Panorama Tower in Brickell, the future tallest tower in Miami, has reached ground level, and appears poised to go vertical any moment now.

About five months ago, they had just begun driving piles down for the foundations, when construction of the 822 foot tower had finally picked up after an agonizingly slow beginning.
