“Crews are currently waiting on final county permits before starting demolition of the former Sears and Macy’s sections,” said Joseph Scarfone, owner of One Investment Group and the project’s manager.

The redevelopment plan will replace the vacant department store spaces with a modern layout that includes new retail options and a drive-through restaurant, according to a press release. Specialty grocer Sprouts Farmers Market is one of the confirmed tenants expected to join the site.

“While demolition will focus on the mall’s eastern side, the western portion—including the food court and AMC Theater—will remain open for the time being,” said Scarfone.

The project is expected to be completed between 2027 and 2028, according to the investment group.
